1. Overview of the University of British Columbia
The University of British Columbia (UBC) is the oldest higher education institution in British Columbia. The school was established in 1908 as a college affiliated to McGill University, 7 years later, ie in 1915, the school was autonomous and renamed to the current school name.
The school impresses with outstanding achievements: 7 Nobel prizes, 69 Rhodes scholars, 65 Olympic medals, 195 scholarships of the Royal Society of Canada with 2 alumni as Prime Minister of Canada: Mr. John Turner – Prime Minister 17th, Ms. Kim Campbell – 19th Prime Minister and the first female Prime Minister of Canada. UBC’s input conditions are quite high and strict. The school will consider the annual target and select candidates from the top. However, the UBC requires a minimum of:
For Bachelor level: GPA level 3> 8.0, IELTS> 6.5
– For Master: Graduated from University under a 4-year program with relevant majors, graduation score> 8.0, IELTS> 7.0
– For Doctoral level: have a Master’s degree in the relevant field with average score of TB> 9.0, IELTS> 7.0.
